JOB SUMMARY
The Bartender is responsible to serve beverages and food to guests in a friendly and timely manner and prepare beverages to other servers resulting in guest satisfaction.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Experience
- High School Diploma with two years bartending experience preferred; Strong customer service experience.
- Legal age to serve alcohol and actively TABC Certified.
- Possess a Food Handlers Certification
JOB ESSENTIALS
- Mix and present drinks in accordance to standard recipes and practice portion controls.
- Maintain good customer relations and speedy delivery of all beverages and food items.
- Manage guest requests, inquiries, and complaints promptly and completely. Ensure follow up with guest are performed in a timely manner to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction and quality service. In the event of dissatisfaction, negotiate compromise in accordance to the “Make it Right” established guidelines.
- Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projection from the daily function sheet.
- Input orders into register at point of service creating a check for each guest to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
- Record all sales, collects money, operates a cash register and follows all cash-handling procedures as required.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions, process guest checks in an efficient and accurate manner
- Lock up and stores all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank at end of shift.
- adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to insure all laws are being followed.
- Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
- Follow proper Hotel safety policies and procedures and use safety equipment as needed to ensure the safety of all team members during each shift. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Ensure work area is clean and clear of standing water, debris or any objects that can obstruct the job duties from being performed safely, efficiently and effectively
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned

- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Working knowledge of sanitation, standards, and inventory control systems.
- Working knowledge of basic food-handling skills.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up,
- Ability to read, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests in order to fulfill guests’ requests.

- Knowledge of equipment and how to maintain it.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and guests.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers with tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis; Able to work varied shifts, including Weekday Evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this position, the job regularly requires standing and walking for an entire shift, twisting, bending, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
