Directly responsible for the overall financial performance, profitability, safety, maintenance, positive culture, and brand compliance of the hotel.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years Hotel General Management Experience
- Brand experience preferred.
JOB ESSENTIALS
- Collaborate with Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions LLC ownership company team, management team, and employees to provide superior service, meet and exceed branding standards, and achieve company goals and objectives.
- Strive to achieve all budgeted numbers, with daily involvement in sales and revenue management. Assist the sales team in closing business and ensure a consistent positive RevPAR Index.
- Focus efforts on building workplace culture and morale, effectively managing property turnover, and successfully fostering team member relations.
- Lead by example to build a solid culture and minimize team member turnover. Attend departmental stand-up meetings, hold one-on-ones with hotel staff, and ensure accountability.
Community
- Engage with the community by joining local organizations such as the CVB, chamber, etc.
Maintenance
- Ensure robust preventative maintenance programs are in place for the entire hotel and equipment.
Brand Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all brand training, QA inspections, etc., maintaining performance at or above brand thresholds.
Safety
- Oversee management to ensure team members are certified in all applicable state and required safety certifications (CPR, etc.). Ensure training on emergency procedures, knowledge of emergency manuals, and regular safety inspections for each department. Prioritize safety to minimize claims.
Cost Containment / Profitability
- Use company resources effectively, control expenditures, and contribute cost reduction ideas while maintaining high operational and service standards. Manage all expenses, re-bid service agreements, and ensure PO and labor systems are in place and followed to achieve or exceed profitability goals.
Other Responsibilities
- Drive results of the Balanced Scorecard and hotel revenue, profit, and guest satisfaction scores.
- Monitor market share (STR) and ensure timely completion of performance reviews by managers.
- Oversee sales functions, own the budget and forecast processes, and participate in revenue management strategy planning.
- Assist with the training and development of department heads and ensure solid accounting procedures are in place.
- Address ongoing inquiries from property Regional Manager, Executive VP of Operations, COO, or ownership.
- Complete monthly reports or other requested documentation.
- Possess knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, safety programs, personnel laws, business plan preparation, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance, hospitality law, and long-range planning.
- Command of the English language, both written and verbal.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may need to work varying schedules (including holidays and weekends) to meet hotel business needs. Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
