Position: General Manager

About Us:
We are currently seeking a highly experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead our team and oversee operations at Holiday Inn Columbia East, located in the heart of Columbia, Missouri. The General Manager will play a key role in maintaining the hotel’s high standards of service while driving business growth in one of the most dynamic and competitive markets in the region.

Position Overview:
The General Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the hotel, ensuring that all aspects of the property run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a proven ability to drive business growth, optimize operational processes, and deliver outstanding guest satisfaction. This role requires a strategic mindset and the ability to adapt to the unique demands of the Columbia market.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Direction: Provide leadership and direction to all hotel departments, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, sales, and maintenance.
  • Guest Service: Ensure the highest standards of guest service are maintained throughout the hotel.
  • Revenue Maximization: Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability, including sales and marketing initiatives, cost control measures, and revenue management strategies.
  • Staff Management: Hire, train, and mentor staff to ensure a high level of performance and employee satisfaction.
  • Property Maintenance: Oversee property maintenance and ensure that the hotel is well-maintained and in compliance with all safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Team Culture: Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, open communication, and professional growth.
  • Vendor & Supplier Management: Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other external partners.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving financial targets.
  • Thorough understanding of hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and sales.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
